How to own your power without seeming arrogant

I landed a new client today in my program, Go Independent.

She has two Ivy League degrees – undergrad in engineering as well as her MBA from Wharton.

She’s worked across multiple industries as an engineer, management consultant, and product marketer.

She’s not only smart, but she’s kind and has great communication skills.

TOTAL PACKAGE ALERT! 🚨

The only problem is that her expertise and pedigree are not converting into sales.

She told me a story about this entitled bro that she knows who keeps landing work even though he doesn’t treat people well.

She couldn’t wrap her head around what she needed to do to beat him in the market.

Her instinct is to focus on working EVEN HARDER to prove herself and stand out.

But when you’re already a top performer, more proving is not the answer.

It’s about OWNING YOUR POWER – being more visible. Taking up space.

She’s already got the expertise, credibility, and work ethic.

Now she needs to see it in herself and OWN IT.

She signed on to work with me so that I can help her see herself fully, in her greatness.

It’s going to be uncomfortable. But so worth it.

Owning your power isn’t about boasting or bragging. It’s about looking in the mirror and being able to accurately see who you are.

There’s a simplicity to it.

And when you do, the world becomes your oyster.

Clients pay you top dollar.

Colleagues refer to you frequently.

You build a reputation – not only for your hard work and talent – but for how you show up as a leader.

This is the call of Independence.

This is freedom.

Chris
